LADIES NIGHT

Following the Christmas Ball I was presented with another opportunity to organise Ladies evening for the Free Masons. To mark the beginning of spring I went for a floral theme, so each table was decorated with pressed flowers, candles and quotes about women. Every lady received a corsage on arrival and a flowery photo booth.

I kept my outfit simple with a black fishtail dress from Pretty Little Thing and accessorised with a choker and obviously, statement earrings from Topshop.

Having a dad who is Worshipful master of a masonic lodge has its perks, especially when the lodge buys you an ipad…

VELVET FLARES N ART

Another date with Lorna, yep were obsessed with eachother.

After eyeing up the velvet suits from Marks and Spencer’s since September, I finally bit the bullet and copped them for £15 on New years eve in the sales, I mean, they may be a little too big, but nothing a textiles student can’t fix…

Bleaching my hair…

For the longest time I have been bored of my natural hair colour, it just doesn’t set off my outfits like I want it to. So as soon as I left school I decided to bleach my hair…. Bleach it?! Yes a little extreme but with all the time I spend lusting over the locks of Sasha Luss and Daphne Groeveneld, it was everything my hair needed to be…

So off I went to the hair dressers, I went for the lightest blond. If you’re thinking of dyeing your hair blond then be warned…it burns! And you will be sat there for at least an hour so bring some reading material and your best pain threshold. Once the the dye was on I must admit I was getting anxious, I could see my old champagne like colour fading slowly into a head of bright yellow… (Oh yeah also be prepared to temporarily transform into an egg…)

After around 2 hours of sheer burning and itching, it was finally time to wash off and put some toner on my hair to make it less yellow. I then got my hair straightened and cut and was pretty impressed with the final result!

When I washed my hair back to my natural curls, my hair looked very yellow and just wasn’t what I’d expected, so I decided to take matters into my own hands….

With the abundance of hair tutorials on YouTube and Google I like to consider myself a pretty educated gal. So 5 days after the initial dyeing I took myself to boots and bought some violet hair dye. ( Top tip: violet tones cancel yellow tones out!) and put it onto my hair, this left me with much whiter hair and slightly pink roots, which surprisingly I love!

So here is my final hair, and I must say I love it! My new routine involves purple shampoo, purple dye and rose coloured dye from bleach London (review coming soon!)

So I hope you enjoyed reading about my new hair! Stay tuned for more hair blogs!

Summer dreams…

Fashion goals for Summer 2015.

Every year I fall into the same pattern in terms of clothes in summer. Lets be honest, it is much harder to pick out a statement outfit in the heat (not that we get alot in Manchester!) So this year I have decided to set myself goals to complete in order to keep my look updated and current, not just the same old maxi dresses that I pull out each year….

Septum Piercing

02gothic_span-articlelargeseptum

For too long I have lusted over these piercings on instagram, I find them so beautiful and ethereal, however I have always been way to scared to do it. Leaving school this year and Givenchy’s amazing accessorizing at fashion week was the push I needed to bite the bullet this summer….Watch this space!

White hair

Sasha Luss is serious goals anyway, but this summer she is my hairspiration. When I was much younger my hair was this colour natrually so you could say I’m going back to my roots! (or making roots a serious hassle) Needless to say I’m nervous as hell, there aren’t many videos of this kind of bleaching online so I will try to document the bleaching process for anyone in my shoes!

New lips

Last week we saw Rihanna stir things up at Coachella with her very non-boho style. Instantly the purple lipstick she was wearing sold out, and I can see why. Inspired by the SS15 runways Ri-Ri rocked purple haze. Obviously I’m no Rihanna but I can’t get enough of these lips, I don’t think my go to dark lipstick will really get me in the summer mood come June so I’m aiming to branch out and go violet…..Stay tuned for that one....

                     Get my boho on

Zuhair Murad did it, Rodarte did it. Everywhere you look the 70’s are back in town, so I know I said I’d put my maxi dress away but is it really a maxi dress if it’s made from crochet? One thing I definitely will be buying are Gladiator sandals and Mules its only right that whilst my favourite show styles are back in I splash out on them….right?

Ootd: Vodafone London Fashion Weekend February 2015.

Today I travelled down to Somerset House in London for London Fashion weekend, while there are larger blog posts coming to really do it justice, I thought I’d jump in right away and show you what I wore to it… (I can tell you, it was not easy choosing what to wear!)

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

The academy awards 2015.

Every year I wake up in anticipation to find out what each celebrity has chosen to wear to one of the biggest award shows of the year. This year was no exception and the gowns chosen were certainly not disappointing, without further ado here are my best dressed…

emma stone

1.Emma Stone + Elie Saab? Need i say more!

jennifer lopez

2.Again, Jennifer Lopez looks flawless proving you really cant go wrong with Elie Saab!

rosamund pike

3.Rosamund Pike rocked this red Givenchy number. It compliments her body amazingly, I love the contrast of red on pale skinned blondes at the moment!

Keira Knightley

4.Kiera Knightley has impressed me so far this year! She looked beautiful in Giambattista Valli at the Grammys and last night she wowed again in Valentino, talk about a stylish mum-to-be!

Sienna Miller

5.Sienna Miller could wear a sack to the red carpet and still look stunning so it was not surprising that she looked smoking in the Oscar de la Renta dress straight off the catwalk!

Jennifer Anniston

6.If I look like Jennifer Anniston at her age I will certainly be able to die happy, this Versace gown compliments her skin tone and figure perfectly!

Behati Prinsloo

7.With a face like Behati Prinsloo’s and Adam Levine as an accessory, you can’t go far wrong, the Armani Privé gown finished Prinsloo’s look effortlessly.

Kerry Washington

8.Kerry Washington looks show stopping in this elegant, tailored Miu Miu peplum cream dress.

Reese Witherspoon

9.Reese Witherspoon looks glamorous and radiant in this figure hugging Tom Ford gown. While it wasn’t the most stand-out look of the night, Reese always looks beautifully put together and stunning so I just had to include her in my best dressed.

Gaga

10.Recently engaged Lady Gaga’s style as certainly evolved for the better over the years, so credit where credit is due to her Alaia gown from last night which took 25 people 10 weeks to perfect! Not entirely convinced on the gloves though…
